Watermelon Purrt Carving
The art of carving foods is an Eastern custom that has been adopted by creative food preparers around the world. I have been inspired by intricate fruit carving techniques displayed by chefs or caterers at fancy banquets. I would like to show you my work..my peacock watermelon purrt carving.
My own version of peacock watermelon carving.
Directions:
1. Almost any shape watermelon will work for this project.
2. If necessary, cut a think slice from one end for a stable base.
3. Draw a straight line (about 1/3 of the watermelon's length above the level end) around watermelon for the peacock's edge.
4. Draw the peacock's head and neck above the straight line.
5. On the opposite side, draw a half circle tail base above the straight line.
6. Cut and remove the top section of the watermelon, leaving the head, neck and tail base intact.
7. Scoop out the flesh, leaving just a trace of red.
8. Alternate orange, chico and grapes, (wala ako nabili eh) on bamboo skewers.Insert skewers into tail base in fan shape.Pwedi din ang pineapple.
9. Use wooden picks to attach fruits to head for eye and crest.
